Emerging Tracks Become Growth Engines
As the technology matures and costs decline, the application landscape for carbon fiber is undergoing a profound transformation, with both traditional and emerging sectors advancing in tandem. In the conventional wind-turbine-blade market, the trend toward larger turbines has driven widespread adoption of carbon fiber, with projected consumption reaching 40,000 to 45,000 metric tons in 2026—accounting for roughly half of total domestic demand. At the same time, emerging fields such as commercial aerospace, the low-altitude economy, and humanoid robotics are becoming key drivers of demand for high-performance carbon fiber. Taking the low-altitude economy as an example, approximately 80% of the structural components in electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft are made from composite materials, with carbon fiber accounting for more than half of these composites, thereby opening up new market opportunities for the industry.
